Hello. My name is Steve Agalloco. I'm a web professional located in Charlotte, NC. I have over 10 years experience in web design, development and strategy. I am always looking for a challenge, do you have one for me?

My Work

Coolspotters

Coolspotters Have you ever seen a picture of your favorite celebrity and wondered what sunglasses they were wearing? Or watched a commercial and wondered what song was playing in the background? Coolspotters is the place for you. It's an online community for the celeb-obsessed. Celebrity-stylist Rachel Zoe went so far as to call it the 'Google of people and products.'

I was a member of the Fanzter team that launched Coolspotters in May of 2008. Since it's launch, I've assumed the role of lead developer and am responsible for developing new features, infrastructure, troubleshooting and improving performance.

SimpleSports
SimpleSports

SimpleSports is a next-generation sports product made by Fanzter. I was a member of the core-team since it's onset and look forward to it's upcoming launch. Visit SimpleSports now to be notified when it launches.

I Am Locked In
I Am Locked In

In April of 2008, Fanzter took a short break from our work on Coolspotters to do a side-project. We built the Locked In site to rally behind a movement started by P. Diddy on Youtube. By aggregating twitter messages, Locked In became the place to watch as people jumped on board. It was a fun project and gave me a chance to work with Twitter again.

Twitter/ESPN
ESPN and Twitter

In early 2007, I had an inkling to play with the Twitter API, so I rolled up my sleeves and created the initial twitter account for ESPN. A few weeks later, the folks at ESPN took notice. I ended up running my service for about 6 months before handing over the reins to their technical team. It was my first experience with Ruby and was part of what lead me on the path to work with Ruby on Rails.

Johnson & Johnson
Johnson & Johnson

I spent the first eight years of my career at Johnson & Johnson working at Ethicon. It was an excellent place to begin my career and I valued the experiences I had there including: conducting training sessions, delivering presentations on User Experience, designing our SDLC process, and designing and developing a lot of different apps along the way. I left J&J in the fall of 2007 to pursue new opportunities.

About Me

Steve Agalloco

My name is Steve Agalloco. I live in Avon, CT with my wife Christine and our children Sophie and Cameron. I'm a pretty laid back guy who enjoys golf, jazz, wine, and the occasional single malt scotch. Here's a bit about me:

I grew up in a small town in central New Jersey not far from Princeton. After graduating from high-school, I received a Computer Science degree from George Washington University. I accepted a position with Johnson & Johnson and spent the next 8 years with J&J while moving up and down the east coast, first to Boston, then back to DC again. In the fall of 2007, I joined Fanzter and moved to central Connecticut. In 2009, I set out on my own and freelanced with a number of startups and new media firms before deciding to migrate south to Charlotte, NC where I joined a financial services company. I get to work on cool stuff every day and we have a putting green in front of the office - who can beat that!

What's with Federico?

Federico da MontefeltroI've used this portrait of Federico da Montefeltro as an avatar on quite a few sites. I can't remember what spurred me to do so, but I've taken to it and use it quite often. It works for me as I love Tuscany and I'm able to pay homage to my Italian roots.
